We Welcome All Dental Insurance

As an in-network provider for many forms of dental insurance, we understand how important it is for families and individuals seeking affordable care. At Wylie Family Dentistry, we accept most major PPO dental plans. Our team members are experts in navigating dental insurance, so feel free to ask them questions if you have them about your coverage. With their help, you can maximize your coverage and get the most out of your plan. If you have questions about how your insurance works, keep reading below or give our dental office a call!

Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

It’s common for people to believe that dental insurance is only used when you absolutely need it, but this is not actually the case. Dental insurance is meant to be used routinely, as professional dental care is necessary for maintaining long-term health. This is much different than what you would expect from medical insurance, which is traditionally allocated towards emergencies or serious illnesses. By keeping up with routine checkups, cleanings, x-rays, all of which have substantial coverage under dental insurance, you can prevent serious dental issues later and save money in the process.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

While every dental insurance plan comes with its own stipulations, most of them do cover treatments at similar rates. You should always confirm exactly how far your benefits go with your provider directly. With that said, most PPO plans cover dental treatments in the following ways:

  • Dental checkups and exams, which fall into essential or preventive care, are covered at or near 100 percent.
  • Dental fillings or root canal therapy, which are considered minor restorative treatments, are usually covered between 70 and 80 percent.
  • If you require major restorative care, such as crowns, bridges or dentures, expect coverage to reach about 50 to 60 percent.

We Offer In-Network Savings & Welcome Out-of-Network Providers

While our dental office is in-network with many dental plans, that doesn’t mean we won’t accept providers who are out-of-network as well. We believe that our many PPO plans that we are in-network with will make paying for care all the more convenient for patients. Being in-network simply means that our dental office has agreed to certain rates that have been set by the insurance company. But just because you may be out-of-network doesn’t mean you can’t get exceptional care at a decent rate. We are currently in-network with the following dental plans:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas PPO
  • Dental Network of America PPO
  • Aetna PPO
  • Delta Premiere
  • United Concordia Elite
